Meet the Team!
Hello, I am Chloe the owner of Central Bark Dog Grooming which opened in February 2020 as a table renter within an existing salon. Now a pandemic fueled year on and we have opened up our very own high-street salon in the heart of Pewsey Village!
first started grooming dogs back in 2008 when my mum opened her dog grooming salon - I was 12 at the time but loved getting involved bathing and drying all the dogs in the salon. I spent a lot of my spare school free time learning and working in the family salon and even began to compete in grooming shows bringing home rosettes for 3rd and 4th place. I was even awarded the Best Handler 2015 achievement award after grooming restraint-free at a busy competition with my client Border Terrier Hacker. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement and that a relaxed and happy environment is the best atmosphere to have in the salon.
I have always had a love for animals with ambitions to be a Veterinarian as a child before pursuing my interests in animal conservation and going on to graduate with a 2:1 in Bsc Hons Animal Science & Management. My degree enabled me to develop my practical animal handling and husbandry skills, but it has also given me extensive knowledge on Animal Nutrition, Animal Anatomy, Physiology, and key first aid skills through Veterinary Practice and Vet Nursing lectures. Along with skills and knowledge further developed from Animal Behaviour in Society, Animal Health and Welfare Laws, Companion Animal and Human Interactions and the Business Animal Environment lectures. All of these subjects come into play every working day in the salon.
As an animal-loving family, we have always had pets and dogs particularly Irish Terriers which are bred and shown by my mum Karen Hobson. You won't meet any of the girls in the salon but you will meet our Head of 'Paw Patrol' Security Hugo the Frenchie!
I am so happy I decided to take the plunge and set up my own dog grooming business and I am forever thankful for every single one of my clients - past, present and future. Both me and Hugo look forward to meeting you and your dog soon!
We pride ourselves on creating a pleasant environment for the dogs with one to one grooming, quality products and service. We always have an open-door policy (the salon door currently remains closed per the COVID-19 salon protocol) and have always groomed using minimal restraint and positive encouragement for behaviour.
Through our one on one appointments we provide a less stressful environment, and an enjoyable experience for your best friend. This is why we operate strictly by appointment only.
Central Barks mission is to provide a healthy and positive grooming experience for your dog in a professional and stress-free environment. It is our goal to assure owners that their dogs will be treated with the same love and respect as we treat our own dogs.
Central Bark aims to provide a professional service, assistance, education and advice for owners on how to properly maintain their dogs coat between grooms at home.
